No matter how long we’ve been using e-cigarettes, we all make vaping mistakes. Some vaping mistakes can easily be avoided.
If we avoid these mistakes, we don’t have to fret and let our hard-earned money go down the drain. So how do I avoid these mistakes? Let’s take a look at the Eight Steam Mistakes and how to avoid them.
1. Vaping too complicated
This means that you have not received any advice on your vape kit.
In the past, vapers had little choice. That means it was very easy. You bought a vape, a couple of pre-filled pods and that’s it.
A few years later, it can seem complicated at first glance, especially for newcomers. For vaping to work for you, you need to keep it simple and straightforward. You need an e-cigarette and an e-liquid that suits you. You don’t have to buy the whole store, just enough to keep you off the cigarette.
This is where good advice is crucial. If you can, find a store near you. The trained staff can walk you through the entire process and help you choose the perfect e-cigarette.
2. Getting too technical too quickly
This ties in seamlessly with number 1. You get an e-cigarette, happy with the vapor and features. You see a co-worker with a bigger and better vape kit and you want it too, only this not only vaporizes your favorite e-liquid, it also talks to your smartphone and produces massive amounts of vapour.
It is important that you know how the technical device works when upgrading, otherwise you may experience a frustrating vaping experience. Come to a store near you or give us a call and we’ll discuss the device with you. You can also research online and don’t have to spend your money unnecessarily on new coils.
3. Dry Hits
Why is this happening? The coils are dry and not sucking properly. Either the wattage is wrong or the coil doesn’t contain enough e-liquid.
These are reasons why the coil will burn, taste bad and ruin your vapor. You should always know the ohms/wattage/coil resistance your vape requires. The wrong wattage means combustion. Always remember to load the coil with e-liquid as well and prime it before vaping.

4. The wrong e-liquid – pg/vg/nicotine blend
Too little nicotine, you don’t like it, same as if you have too much nicotine.
Wrong pg/vg mix? You won’t like it, it can make you cough or not get a throat hit. Check out our guide to the right nicotine strength to find out which e-liquid strength is best for you.
vape newbie? We would normally advise a smoker who smokes a pack of cigarettes a day to start with a 1.8% strength e-liquid (18mg/ml) as this will require a higher nicotine strength for the time being. When you smoke tobacco, the nicotine enters your bloodstream very quickly, while vaping takes a little longer.
5. Not taking advice

6. Wrong charger for your e-cigarette
An e-cigarette is an electronic device and using the wrong charger is problematic. Almost all the charging issues you see in the news are due to user error using a charger that wasn’t intended for vaping.
Always use the charger that came with the device and read the instructions before putting it in your pocket. DO NOT tag it with removable mods, loose change or keys!
7. Poor quality vapor products
This can be very frustrating. Bad products break down, don’t produce the desired flavor and vapor, plus these products cost more money in the long run. Cheap is expensive.
Instead, invest in quality vape products and you will reap the rewards.
8. Vaping like a smoker
Vaping is completely different from smoking a tobacco cigarette. When you vape, you don’t inhale as much. Some like to inhale into their mouth first, which gives them a hint of flavor, and then inhale into their lungs. Others breathe directly into the lungs.
Vaping takes a different technique, and those first hits can put people off thinking vaping is a smoke, it isn’t.
