E-cigarettes with Noticeable Smoking Cessation Effects were Treated Rudely by WHO?

The OEM vape produced by Chinese vape manufacturers are dominating the vaping industry. A British study shows that the success of smoking cessation is multiplied by 5 thanks to the vape than without help. This conclusion does not surprise us. Quitting smoking without suffering too much is possible with the use of vaping.

The effectiveness of vaping scrutinized by a long-term British study

155 people (aged 18-81, of which 56.1% were men) responded to an online survey conducted between 2012 and 2017. After analyzing its data, researchers concluded that when used daily, e-cigarettes make quitting smoking more accessible than using no aid. Indeed, according to their research: daily use of an open-system e-cig (rechargeable) gives you 5 times more chances of successful smoking cessation versus 3 times more likely with a cartridge or disposable vape

Yorkshire Cancer Research published this study as part of the 37th edition of the National No Smoking Day across the Channel. But that’s not all! They launched a communication operation to reassure the British population about vaping.

A communications effort by Yorkshire Cancer Research

With its #VapingDemystified, this centre has organized self-help groups on vaping.

For Martin Dockrell, head of tobacco control policy at the UK Department of Health (Public Health England): “We’ve been following the evidence for some time and what’s increasingly clear is that vaping is far less harmful than smoking.”

Unlike other countries within the EU restricting the vaping industry with TPD vape, the United Kingdom has a proactive public health policy on vaping. An example for the French government, which has not yet received 5/5, is the need to go even further in the fight against smoking thanks to vaping.

#Right2Switch, a petition to defend the vape threatened by the WHO

The WHO manhandled the vape

During the Voices4Vape webinar organized by the Coalition of Asia Pacific Tobacco Harm Reduction Advocates (CAPHRA) vaping association, many vaping stakeholders launched a petition to contradict the WHO position on vaping.

Indeed, in 2019, the WHO qualified it as “unquestionably harmful”. A qualifier that had made the entire independent sector of the tobacco industry react to vaping products with the production of this video.

Since then, the WHO has continued to attack the vape; they had written a page on their website mentioning that vaping is as much, if not more harmful, than smoked tobacco. They ensure that the scientific evidence is insufficient to consider it a smoking cessation aid.

CAPHRA’s requests

After publishing a white paper last February, The Coalition of Asia Pacific Tobacco Harm Reduction Advocates (CAPHRA) asks the WHO:

  1. “Stop lying to us and only provide advice based on solid scientific facts, methodologies and principles.
  2. “Regulate based on sound science that includes stakeholder (consumer) participation as part of the decision-making process.
  3. “Don’t ignore the fundamental human right of harm reduction which is one of the founding principles of the WHO. “To serve public health at all times – to put the interests of people’s health first”.
  4. “Stop interfering with the rights of adults who make informed choices about their health and well-being.
  5. “Don’t discriminate against smokers or users of nicotine products because they aren’t doing what you want them to do” We strive to make people feel safe, respected, empowered, and treated relatively and duly recognized.
  6. Follow your mandate: “We communicate openly with everyone and learn from each other”
  7. Do not use the COVID-19 pandemic as an excuse for not respecting our rights to choose alternatives. – “We are guided by the best scientific knowledge, evidence and techniques available, we continuously develop and innovate to respond to a changing world.”
